Eric Adams Says He 'Had a Shorty That Lived Out Here' During Rockaway Town Hall Meeting
Speaking to the concerned citizens of Rockaway, Adams divulged his romantic history without being prompted to do so.
During a town hall in Rockaway, NYC last night, Mayor Eric Adams spoke about his dating history when addressing citizens.
"There's a real history for me, I had a shorty that lived out here," Adams told the crowd as if he were doing a tight-five stand-up routine. "I used to come out... Taking that long A-train ride, you know, in the cold. Love is blind, man. Taking that long, long A-train, I did not have a car. And one or two times I didn't have a token, so yes I did jump over the turnstile. It's over, the statute of limitation is over."
Adams, who helped launch a crackdown on turnstile jumping last year by increasing police officers in subway stations, tends to overshare at random intervals. The recent town hall meeting is not the first time he's spoken about his romantic life without being prompted to do so, either.
In a graduation speech in 2015, per The New York Times, he told an audience that he's been on dates with many women in the city. "As the state senator and borough president, I've had the opportunity to date some of the most attractive women in this city," he said. "And I'm not taking you anywhere with me to a $500 dinner if you've got two tattoos on your neck saying, 'Lick me.'"
Adams is currently in a relationship with Tracey Collins of the New York City Department of Education.
