According to online records, 43-year-old Erika Wulff Jones was booked into Travis County Jail on Friday for causing bodily injury to a family member.
Legal issues continue to mount in the Alex Jones household.
The Associated Press reports Erika Wulff Jones—the wife of right-wing provocateur—was arrested Friday night in Austin for domestic violence. The 43-year-old woman was booked into Travis County Jail at around 8:45 p.m. local time and hit with two misdemeanor charges: assault causing bodily injury to a family member as well as resisting arrest, search or transport.
According to the police department’s online database, Wulff Jones has yet to receive bond.
The details of the alleged assault remain unclear; however, Alex Jones told the AP that the incident was seemingly caused by some type of medication.
“It’s a private family matter that happened on Christmas Eve,” Jones explained to the outlet. “I love my wife and care about her and it appears to be some kind of medication imbalance.”
The couple tied the knot in 2017 and share a child together.
The arrest came less than two months after Alex Jones was found liable in defamation suits stemming from the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre. The conspiracy theorist had used his platforms to claim the school shooting was a hoax pushed by the political left. Families of the Sandy Hook victims sued him and his media holdings for defamation.
