AI appears to still be throwing people through a loop as an emotional support kangaroo has bamboozled the internet.

A clip of a woman attempting to board an airplane with a kangaroo has gone viral on X (formerly known as Twitter). The video shows the woman arguing with an airline employee, and ends with a close-up of the animal’s face. The kangaroo looks astonishingly real — but it’s actually AI.

First posted by @infinitereality on IG, the account is known for sharing surreal AI-generated videos, according to Forbes.

Somehow, this clip gained traction on X after being shared by the account @DramaAlert. "Emotional support kangaroo rejected entry to plane," it captioned its post. The platform subsequently flagged the original post as being AI; still, at the time of this writing, it’s been viewed over 72 million times.

The video looks much more real without audio, but if you turn the sound on, it becomes very clear that it’s fake, given that the two women are speaking gibberish. The outlet points out that this is likely purposeful on the creator’s end, to indicate that the video is indeed AI-generated.

"The fact that everyone on X, who are among the most media literate chronically online people, got duped by the AI kangaroo, when the original post *literally* said it was AI, shows how TURBO COOKED normies will be by AI. If X can be duped, imagine Facebook," one person said of the video.

Another wrote: "Fell for my first ai video and i feel sick to my core….. like what tf was i thinking… that kangaroo was holding a fucking boarding pass."

"DISCRIMINATION? Airline won’t let kangaroo fly? He has his ticket and his carry-on luggage, and he's less of a nuisance by on the plane than a drunken tourist. Look at that sad face [laughing emoji]," a third added.
