Here’s What Went Down at the BWS Nice Drops Event in Sydney

Last week, BWS turned up the volume in Sydney with an immersive sound crawl to celebrate the launch of their Sound System Speaker—the sixth and most exclusive drop in their Nice Drops series.
Designed as a full-spectrum sonic experience, the three-part event featured a thought-provoking panel, a sunset listening session, and an exclusive afterparty at Theeca.
First up was the ‘Cutting Through the Noise’ panel in Surry Hills, where host Shivani Sharma led a deep dive into Australia’s independent music movements. Featuring some of the scene’s most influential voices, the discussion unpacked the evolving landscape of sound and culture.
Next, attendees headed to the Astral People Rooftop for a golden hour listening session featuring performances from Ella Haber and Zigi Blau, whose sets came to life through the BWS Sound System Speaker.
Finally, the night hit its peak at Theeca in Darlinghurst, where guests were treated to electric DJ sets from Harvey Sutherland and Mimi J.
The event marked the grand unveiling of the BWS Sound System Speaker—a handmade, one-of-ten collector’s piece crafted in Sydney. With a sleek plywood build, bold accents, and the legendary JBL 328C 8-inch Coaxial Driver, it’s a statement piece built for audiophiles.
