Sultry fragrance brand Orb Oils took over the newly launched The StandardX hotel in Melbourne last night for an exclusive party to celebrate the official launch of its sleek new bottles.

Upon arrival, guests received a premium silver Orb Oils tin to collect fragrance samples throughout the night—a fitting introduction to the multi-sensory, immersive experience that awaited them.

Held on the hotel's sixth floor, the event transformed each room into a space dedicated to one of Orb Oils' five signature unisex scents: Harper, Ash, Lenny, River, and Bobby. But rather than opening all the doors at once, the five-hour celebration unfolded gradually, with each hour unveiling a new fragrance-inspired space.

The first hour was dedicated to Harper—a salty, citrusy scent—and featured a DJ set from Wax'o Paradiso. Next, the doors to Ash opened, filling the air with its fresh, woody aroma of petitgrain and cedarwood. As the night progressed, guests were welcomed into the world of Lenny, a warm and inviting mix of vanilla, orchid and bergamot, followed by River, a sexy scent with cedarwood and amber accords. Finally, Bobby—the boldest of the bunch—closed out the night with its deep, musky notes and a hint of leather.

The drinks flowed just as freely as the scents, with a curated cocktail menu featuring Martinis, Whiskey Sours, Margaritas, and more—each chosen to complement the fragrances. Guests also enjoyed a five-course tasting menu by The Standard X's Chef Justin, which included oysters, mini burgers, ice cream, and fries in bespoke Orb packaging.

Between the packed corridors and electrifying DJ sets, guests seeking a sensory break could retreat to an interactive artist room, where exclusive prints by MLAK were on display. Meanwhile, in the River room, tattoo artists Shane Wilcox and Zach Hart offered flash tattoos as a lasting memento of the night.

With DJ sets from Kath Ebbs, Nina Las Vegas, and Airwolf Paradise, the Orb Oils takeover of the iconic StandardX was nothing short of legendary.
