An arrest has been made in connection with a non-fatal shooting at Wendy's over cold fries.

According to Law & Crime, 25-year-old Monjah D. James-Wooten now currently faces charges of assault after a January 6 shooting between a group he was with and a Wendy's employee. The incident allegedly occurred over cold french fries.

An argument between the parties happened in the drive-thru around 10:41 that evening, where James-Wooten and two unidentified codefendants fired multiple shots at the employee, per the complaint. Upon the group entering the restaurant, the suspect retrieved a firearm and fired a single shot. The employee returned fire, with one bullet striking a female bystander in her lower back. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Although the alleged shooter and his accomplices fled before they could be arrested, the incident was recorded on video surveillance. The next day, one of the codefendants contacted authorities and confessed to being at Wendy's with James-Wooten and claimed that she'd also been shot. The suspect surrendered on Friday (January 17).

Fast-food establishments have seen their fair share of violence, namely Waffle House, which constantly goes viral for employee and customer fights. Chipotle has also gained attention for a few altercations, like a couple who attacked a worker over an additional protein charge. Also this month, a fight reportedly escalated from inside an Indianapolis Wendy's into the parking lot, where there was gunfire, leaving a woman shot and critically injured.
