A Norweigan man believed to be the leader of the largest "narco sailboat" organization in the world has been captured in Colombia.

"According to investigations by various international agencies, the captured citizen had criminal links with the so-called Clan del Golfo (the largest Colombian cartel) and Mexican cartels such as Sinaloa and Jalisco Nueva Generacion," Colombian police said of Pazooki Farhad, who was detained at El Dorado airport, according to CBS News.

Farhad is accused of running an operation that shipped cocaine from South America to Europe on sailboats.

Authorities also announced the arrest of his alleged right-hand man Bernsten Bjarte in Barranquilla, Colombia.

Farhad, who's also been referred to as "the Professor," was designated by Europol to be a "high value target" because he had gained the "full confidence of the Colombian and Mexican drug cartels" to arrange these shipments.

Europol posted the above video showing several duffel bags filled with bricks of cocaine that were seized from several sailboats, as well as footage of raids conducted by officers. The agency arrested 50 people from eight countries, while also uncovering 1.5 tons of cocaine, as reported by CBS News. Farhad was suspected to be orchestrating the operation.
