Barack and Michelle Obama are finally responding to ongoing divorce rumors with humor and honesty.

In a new episode of IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson, the Obamas sat down with Michelle's brother, Craig Robinson, to address the growing speculation about their relationship. The rumors had been brewing for months but intensified after Michelle missed several public events, including President Donald Trump's inauguration in January, which she chose not to attend.

"It's so nice to have you both in the same room together," Robinson joked during the episode, prompting Michelle to reply, "I know because when we aren't, folks think we're divorced."

The former president also leaned into the humor, saying, "She took me back! It was touch and go for a while."

Despite the jokes, Barack admitted he wasn't aware of the gossip until someone else brought it up to him, while Michelle made it clear that nothing would make her think about leaving him. The Obamas have been married since 1992 and have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

"These are the kinds of things that I just miss. So I don't even know this stuff's going on and then somebody will mention it to me and I'm like what are you talking about," said Barack.

Michelle added, "There hasn't been one moment in our marriage where I've thought about quitting on my man. And we've had some really hard times and we've had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I'm married to."

Michelle also spoke on these rumors during an interview on NPR's Wild Card podcast last month. According to Michelle, people who aren't getting access to their personal lives instantly believe something is wrong.

"The fact that people don't see me going out on a date with my husband sparks rumors of the end of our marriage," she said. "It's like, 'OK, so we don't Instagram every minute of our lives.' We are 60, You are just not going to know what we're doing every minute of the day, you know? And yes, I guess we're famous, but we're 60."
