OnlyFans Users Spent $5.6 Billion in Payments on Adult Content Site Last Year
The earnings come after OnlyFans threatened to ban adult content from the platform.
OnlyFans users spent $5.6 billion on adult content in 2022, according to a filing report from Fenix International.
On Friday, the report from Fenix International revealed that OnlyFans received $5.6 billion from users for the fiscal year ending in November 2022. Out of that number, OnlyFans creators kept 80 percent of their earnings.
The $5.6 billion that came in from users is a 16 percent increase from 2021, when the company made almost $4.5 billion. The owner of OnlyFans, Leonid Radvinsky, took home $338 million in dividends for 2022, a 19 percent increase from the previous year when he was paid $284 million.
According to the filing, OnlyFans user count went up 27 percent to 238.8 million. The OnlyFans registered creators count also increased by an insane 47 percent to a total of 3.18 million.
Out of the $1.09 billion net revenue for OnlyFans in the 2022 fiscal year, 67 percent came from the U.S., 15 percent from Europe and the UK, and 18 percent from the rest of the globe.
“The group anticipates that its commitment to being ‘creator first’ and providing the safest social media platform will provide a strong foundation to continue to drive revenue growth, profitability and brand awareness in the coming years,” read the filing.
OnlyFans’ latest earnings come after the company threatened to ban adult content in August 2021. However, due to a large amount of backlash from creators who made a living off their respective sexually explicit content, OnlyFans changed their mind and allowed the adult content to continue thriving on the platform.
