Christian College Expels Two Students for Blackface Snapchat Video

The two people involved in the video are "are no longer students" at Abilene Christian University.

Abilene Christian University, a Christian school in West Texas, is in the media spotlight after a Snapchat video featuring one of its students in blackface made its way to Twitter.

The video, which you can see above, features a white ACU student wearing blackface and oversized red lips and saying, "I'm a strong black woman." The caption reads, "this is why black lives matter exists," and someone can be heard laughing in the background.

The video was posted to Twitter on Monday, and understandably upset many students at the small university. ACU president Phil Schubert quickly issued a statement that was short on details, but promised that "those involved in the video...are no longer students at ACU." He continued:

The Star-Telegram reported that two students were expelled as a result of the video.
