Obama Responds to Crowd Member’s Trump Diaper Joke at Harris-Walz Event: 'I Almost Said That'
Earlier this year, Obama seemingly dabbled in dick joke territory when commenting on Trump's obsession with crowd sizes.
Barack Obama couldn’t help but offer a hearty chuckle in response to an audience member’s joke about Donald Trump wearing adult diapers.
Thursday night, the former two-term POTUS spoke at a Harris-Walz campaign event in Pittsburgh, at one point jokingly referring to himself as “the hopey, changey guy.” He also pointed out numerous examples of Trump’s inherent disconnect when it comes to everyday people and the issues that actually matter to them, underscoring a longstanding criticism against the former Apprentice host.
“I remember the first time I went in a store right after Malia was born,” Obama told the crowd on Thursday while remarking on the difficulties of parenthood, namely the financial burden and how the Trumps of the world could never possibly understand such realities. “I was like, what? That’s how much diapers cost? I remember changing diapers. You think Donald Trump ever changed a diaper?”
At this point, the crowd, and Obama himself, laughed. Shouts were heard from the crowd, including, seemingly, interjections of “No chance!” and “His own!” Obama seemed particularly tickled by the latter, adding to the joke by telling the audience he “almost” said the same.
“I almost said that but I decided I shouldn’t say it,” he said.

The moment pairs well with Obama’s presumed presidential upgrade of the age-old art of the dick joke, no doubt an art worth mastering and treating with the respect it so clearly demands, unlike, say, The Art of the Deal. Obama dabbled in this domain back in August, complete with hand gestures to drive home his point about Trump's “weird obsession with crowd sizes.”
That same month, Obama shared his annual summer playlist, complete with an appearance by Charli XCX’s Brat closer “365.” A new version of Brat, notably, is out today. Let it enfold you.
