Madonna, 66, Celebrates Pride Month With Sexy Photoshoot
The pop music icon takes to social media to celebrate Pride Month with a dramatic share that’s a huge departure from her usual look.
Gay icon Madonna took to social media to celebrate Pride Month with an empowering message that was right on brand, but a look that was a huge departure from the high-glamour aesthetic that’s become her signature in recent years.
“Love the skin you’re in,” the music legend, 66, captioned her Tuesday, June 10 Instagram post promoting confidence and self-acceptance. “Happy Pride 🏳️🌈.”
The carousel post features five curated images from a sexy photoshoot showing the braless star posing in bed. The lighting has a soft glow, and her makeup is done in natural-looking neutrals.
The first photo shows Madonna lying on a white sheet, wearing only a white cotton tank top and nude-colored boy shorts. Her blond hair cascades around her face in curls, and she’s holding a small bouquet of delicate white flowers. The second photo is closer up, showing just how almost-sheer her top is. She loses the flowers for the third shot, in which she wears thigh-high pantyhose and little undies with a red bow.
Her last two photos are closeups, showing off her stunning, almost nude makeup palette.
“The most beautiful woman in the world,” gushed one fan in the comments.
“Bedtime stories??????” asked one fan of many who wondered if the post was a nod to her 1994 album Bedtime Stories, which contained the critically acclaimed hit songs “I’ll Remember” and “Human Nature.” In February, she announced on X (formerly Twitter) that a re-release was coming soon.
The effortless white tank top look is one that Madonna made famous in 1999, when she donned one at the Grammys amid a sea of black-tie gowns and tuxedos. She then continued to favor the simple cotton wardrobe staple throughout her career.
She also hashtagged her Instagram post “Veronica Electronica,” her upcoming album she’s been hyping on her socials. A companion to Ray of Light, it was originally planned as a remix in 1998, according to the singer's website. The third song on the album is a collaboration remix edit of “Skin,” which came out that year.
