Lil Durk’s Has Murder-For-Hire Trial Postponed to October

According to new court documents, the case involves a large amount of digital evidence and over 20,000 pages of reports.

Lil Durk’s murder-for-hire trial will be rescheduled.

According to new court documents, Durk’s trial will move from Jan. 7 to Oct. 14 as agreed upon by his defense team and prosecutors on Tuesday.

The case involves “approximately 230 GB of digital evidence such as audio/video recordings and surveillance footage, and approximately 20,000 pages of reports concerning murder and other violent acts, photographs, witness statements, and medical documents.”

According to the filing, the case “is so unusual and so complex that it is unreasonable to expect adequate preparation for pretrial proceedings or for the trial itself within the Speedy Trial Act time limits.” The document also points to conflicting schedules of defense attorneys, who have other trial commitments throughout the year.

Durk’s co-defendant, 36-year-old Asa “Boogie” Houston objected to the delay. While Deandre Dontrell Wilson, 33, requested a “pre-plea sentence report” through his lawyer.

The 32-year-old rapper, born Durk Devontay Banks, was arrested last October in Florida and faces charges including conspiracy, murder-for-hire, and firearm use in a violent crime.

The charges stem from an alleged 2022 retaliation shooting in Los Angeles that supposedly targeted Quando Rondo, but instead killed his cousin, Lul Pab (Saviay'a Robinson).

Despite his attorneys offering $3.3 million in property in cash and property last month, Durk was denied bond and remains in custody, per the Chicago Tribune.
