Master P Shares How He’s Avoided Getting Caught Up in Scandals Like Diddy: ‘I Stick To Myself’
The 54-year-old rapper and newly appointed entertainment ambassador for New Orleans was asked about Diddy in a recent interview.
Master P shared how he’s stayed away from major controversy amid Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ongoing sexual assault lawsuits.
The topic came up during a recent interview with ABC affiliate WGNO in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The 54-year-old rapper and newly appointed entertainment ambassador for the city was invited to the show to speak about leveraging the upcoming 2025 Super Bowl LIX to benefit local businesses in the community beyond entertainment.
At the 5:08 mark in the video linked above, Master P was asked about not getting caught up in scandals and controversies in light of Diddy’s recent arrest and investigation for sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
“I realized I have the same friends I had when I started out,” he answered. “I think a lot of these people don't realize that a lot of people wanna be your friend once you make it.”
He continued, “My thing is, this is about a family. We stronger together. Whatever we have we're gonna share it with each other, and, you know, I love me and them.”
“So my thing is I wanna uplift the people around me. My thing is creating growth and change, and so I always put my trust in faith and go,” Master P added. “A lot of people wanna meet people and hang out with people. But I realized that people really just wanna be with you because now you're successful, and so I stick to myself. I know that if I put my trust in faith and God all these years, we still here.”
Master P noted that a lot of the positive things he’s been doing, such as his efforts to introduce financial literacy classes into New Orleans schools, don’t go viral compared to negativity.
“I'm gonna just keep praying for our culture. I'm gonna keep praying for hip hop,” he said. “But y'all know now it's time to make some of this positive stuff go viral.”
The latest celebrity to speak out about Sean "Diddy" Combs and the allegations against him is Wendy Williams, who has reportedly broken her silence on the news surrounding the disgraced mogul. In a new interview with the Daily Mail, Williams gave her thoughts on Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles stemming from sexual assault accusations made against him.
“What is really weird is that I have been told by so many people ‘Wendy you called it,’” the former talk show host told the tabloid. “Including some people from my family who have said the same.”
