Morgan Wallen Claims He Hasn't Been to a Bar Since Chair Tossing Incident
The country star was arrested last April after throwing a chair off a six-story Nashville rooftop bar and nearly hitting nearby police officers.
Morgan Wallen admits he hasn’t been to a bar since his controversial chair-tossing incident.
On the latest episode of Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, the 31-year-old country music star was asked about his struggles with fame around the 21-minute mark in the video linked above.
“It's still weird and there are parts of that that I don't like,” said the "Last Night" singer. “It's not ideal to go everywhere, and even if you don't get bothered, you were on edge the whole time because you thought you might.”
“There are things that you just don't do anymore, but that’s okay,” he added. “That's why I've taken up hunting so much, I think. Because I can go be with my buddies, I'm in the middle of nowhere, I can be at ease, I can not stress out. You just find ways to supplement it.”
Von, who seemingly forgot about Wallen’s widely publicized arrest last April for throwing a chair off a Nashville rooftop bar, responded with, “It's kind of funny you can't really go to a bar anymore because there’d be too much hassle and it's probably best thing for you.”
“It's definitely the best thing for me, you know?” Wallen replied. “I mean, if you're using a bar as a specific example, that's definitely the best thing for me. I ain't been in a bar since, since the last time I was in a bar that everybody knows about.”
Last April, Wallen was arrested in Nashville on suspicion of felony reckless endangerment and misdemeanor disorderly conduct after throwing a chair from the top of Chief’s, a six-story bar co-owned by fellow country star Eric Church. The chair happened to land near two Metropolitan Nashville Police Department officers that evening.
Wallen accepted a plea deal in December 2024, pleading “conditionally guilty” to two misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges in exchange for dropping the felonies, per WKRN. He was sentenced to two years of probation and seven days in jail, which would be served at a DUI education center.
Last month, Chief’s introduced a Wallen-inspired drink called “The Chair,” according to TMZ. The drink, which includes a tiny chair garnish, is served exclusively on the rooftop where patrons are reminded not to launch furniture.
