Quavo Says It’s a ‘Risk’ to Wear Flashy Jewelry in Public, Thinks Athletes’ Jewelry Is Fake
The Migos alum believes some pro athletes are rocking fake pieces.
Quavo doesn’t think NFL players are wearing real jewelry.
While attending The Players Party 2025 in Atlanta last Monday (July 14), the Migos alum said he’s skeptical about the authenticity of NFL players’ jewelry.
When asked if he thinks rappers or NFL stars have better jewelry, Quavo told Complex, “Rappers, because some of their jewelry—I don't think it be real. We take a lot of risk, you know what I'm saying, and wear our real jewelry out in the public. I don't think it be real.”
Interestingly, his take on the matter falls in line with NBA star Anthony Edwards, who openly admitted that much of his jewelry is fake during a December 2023 interview with Complex’s Speedy Morman.
“That’s two chains, but the little one is like some bullshit for real,” Edwards said about one of his pieces at the 14-minute mark here. “It really was fake, it just look real … People gon’ think it real anyway, because it’s me … I ain’t gonna spend all that money on that jewelry.”
New York Jets star Justin Fields told GQ in 2023 that he sources his jewelry from Amazon, saying, “They shine just the same as real ones. I know a lot of jewelers aren't gonna like to hear this, but I'm cheap, so whoever is asking for the lowest price for the best jewelry, that's what I'm gonna go with.”
ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
