Watch Shakira Bring Out Ozuna To Perform ‘Monotonía' for First Time
The 2022 single, the singer's first release after her split from ex Gerard Piqué, got its live debut at her sold-out concert at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Shakira linked up with Ozuna this week to perform their “Monotonía" collaboration for the first time since its release.
On Thursday night (May 15), the Colombian singer brought her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey for the first of two concerts in the Garden State.
After whipping through hit singles like “Te Felicito,” “La Tortura,” and the global smash “Hips Don’t Lie,” Shakira brought out Ozuna to sing their 2022 collaboration “Monotonía” together on stage.
It’s worth noting the track was the pop star’s first release after announcing her split from Gerard Piqué after an 11-year-long relationship.
The headline-generating breakup and Shakira’s follow up singles, such as the scathing “BZRP Music Sessions #53” with Bizarrap, “TQG” with Karol G, and “El Jefe” with Fuerza Regida, culminated into her 2024 album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women No Longer Cry).
Shakira’s tour was originally scheduled to begin last November but was postponed to spring 2025 due to “unprecedented fan demand,” with several markets being upgraded from arenas to stadiums.
After a second night at MetLife on Friday, Shakira’s tour will visit major cities such as Chicago, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles and Las Vegas before concluding the North American leg on June 30 at San Francisco’s Oracle Park.
Thankfully, Shakira's MetLife Stadium concert went more smoothly than a Miami nightclub performance last year that ended with her walking off stage after she noticed someone trying to record a video up her skirt.
The singer showed up at LIV nightclub in September and jumped up onstage at one point to dance along to a preview of her track, "Soltera." At several points during the brief clip, she can be seen adjusting her skirt and then waving her index fingers at someone off-screen.
She also gestures towards her eyes to let the person know she was aware of what they were trying to do. After adjusting her outfit a few more times, the smile drops from her face and she leaves the stage.
