SiR Jokingly Blames Drake-Kendrick Feud for 2024 Toronto Concert Cancellation
The Top Dawg Entertainment singer claimed the original venue tied to Drake pulled the plug in light of the feud with K.Dot.
SiR claims that his previously canceled Toronto concert had to do with the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
The Top Dawg Entertainment singer was originally scheduled to perform last summer at the History concert venue until the show was abruptly called off.
However, SiR finally returned to Toronto and performed at Rebel on Wednesday night (June 4) as part of his Step Into the Light Tour.
“I kinda got caught in the middle of a beef that I ain’t had shit to do with. I just want to say right now: I did not cancel my show last year, Drake did,” SiR told the crowd before laughing, as seen in a video circulating online.
“No, no, no, but real talk, it was like some complications and … it was too close to home for a lot of people. So the venue in Toronto, which was ‘partially owned by Drake,’ canceled the show completely,” he explained. “Then when we tried to switch venues, the next venue was like, ‘Nah, we ain't fucking with it and I ain't taking no motherfucking chance. You're gonna get your ass beat in Toronto.’”
Schoolboy Q, a fellow TDE signee, says he faced a similar roadblock when he tried to perform in The Six last summer.
“THey just cancelled my sHow in TORONTO … CANADIAN POLICE DONT WANT NOBODY FROM TDE PERFORMING,” Q tweeted last July.
He continued in a separate tweet, “Actually I get it.. Nvm tHis sHit Lokey Hilarious … Iono wHy dot put me in tHat fucking video [face-palm emoji].”
