UPDATED 7/25 2:05 p.m. ET: Smokey Robinson has been accused of sexual misconduct by a fifth anonymous woman.

As reported by TMZ, a woman has filed a police report accusing the 85-year-old of sexual battery. She filed the report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office on July 16. She's the fifth accuser to file a report with the LASD. Robinson's attorney, Christopher Frost, denied the sexual battery allegation on behalf of his client.

"It's not surprising to us that in the context of very public allegations by the four interconnected Jane Does and their shared attorneys, no matter how untrue, news like this might emerge. It's one of the risks of being a celebrity, that others will take the same approach," Frost said.

"Our focus is on exposing the falsity of the Doe lawsuit, where the Does and their lawyers have taken a hit and run approach — making allegations against a beloved 85-year-old cultural icon and subsequently refusing to reveal their identities or unequivocally sit for a deposition, where the truth can actually be determined."

It is not clear if the fifth woman is also pursuing a civil lawsuit against Robinson.

A new lawsuit accuses Smokey Robinson of sexually assaulting four former female employees.

In the suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (May 6) and viewed by Complex, the 85-year-old former Motown record executive was accused of sexual battery, assault, and false imprisonment by four Jane Does.

The accusations span from alleged incidents dating as far back as 2007 to as recently as 2024.

Robinson’s wife, Frances, was also named in the suit.

The women are requesting a trial with general damages for the allegations of no less than $50 million.

All four plaintiffs say they worked as housekeepers for the Motown legend and his wife at their home in Los Angeles' Chatsworth neighborhood, for periods ranging from 13 months to nearly 18 years.

They all allege that Robinson sexually assaulted them repeatedly during their employment.

One of the women claims that Robinson would ask to meet her in areas of the house that didn't have closed-circuit cameras. Once there, she alleges, "he would immediately grab her and begin to penetrate her vagina with his fingers, causing her excruciating pain, and then would proceed to rape her."

That plaintiff claims the singer sexually assaulted her "on at least twenty-three different occasions."

As leverage, some of the plaintiffs claim, Robinson threatened to have his wife be "mean" to them if they declined sex. Frances Robinson herself is accused in the suit of screaming at the women, and "using ethnically pejorative words and language."

In addition, the celebrity couple are accused of not paying minimum wage or overtime, and of not giving the women rest or lunch breaks.

All of the women say that they were reluctant to report the singer's behavior because of "fear of losing her livelihood, familial reprisal, public embarrassment, shame and humiliation to her and her family, the possible adverse effect on her immigration status, as well as being threatened and intimidated by Defendant Smokey Robinson’s well-recognized celebrity status and his influential friends and associates."

Complex has reached out to both the plaintiff's attorneys and representatives for Smokey Robinson. Neither had any immediately response.
