Yung Miami Calls Herself a ‘Great Ass Mom’: ‘I Literally Have to Pat Myself on the Back’
Yung Miami welcomed her son Jai in June 2013 with ex-boyfriend Jai Wiggins.
Yung Miami is giving herself credit for being a “great ass mom.”
In a now-expired Instagram Story shared on Wednesday (July 16), the former City Girls rapper reflected on motherhood following a workout.
“I was in the gym and I was thinking … you are a product of your environment,” she said. “Kids basically, based off of how they’re raised is what they grow up to become. And I was just thinking, like, I am a great ass mom.”
Miami (born Caresha Brownlee) welcomed her son Jai in June 2013 with ex-boyfriend Jai Wiggins. She gave birth to her daughter, Summer, in October 2019, whom she shares with producer Southside.
Miami also said that Summer observes her working out, taking business calls, working on her Caresha Please podcast, and other responsibilities while juggling motherhood. She also said Summer occasionally joins her for workouts.
“She sees me as a business woman and as a woman that work out, and I literally have to pat myself on the back because no matter who the fuck I am as a person, I am a great ass mom behind closed doors,” Miami noted. “And I love being a mom. Like, I can't wait to get home. I'm just saying, like, I can't wait to get home and really get my baby.”
She also revealed that Summer has her own makeup line in the works called Summer Miami Cosmetics.
"I'm so excited for her for that and I just wanted to just give myself a pat on the back because that's what I was thinking about today when I was working out.
Good moms matter and make sure you are being the best mom you could be to them fucking kids," she said.
As the summer slowly begins to wind down, the “CFWM” rapper detailed how she’s handling back-to-school shopping, organizing her daughter’s room, and ensuring her kids are prepared and up to date on their doctors appointments. She also spoke about her son Jai’s interests in design.
“Jai, he's in middle school and he's into designing and all that,” Miami said. “They just wear uniform shirts, they can wear whatever bottoms and stuff they want. So he's gonna take a little more time.”
“Say what you want about me,” Miami concluded. “I am a mother.”
