Lizzo Deletes Tweet Questioning If Future and Swae Lee Belong in Rap Conversation Before Her
She clarified what she was trying to say and encouraged fans to listen to the two rappers after a backlash.
Lizzo namedropped Future and Swae Lee on Twitter seemingly out of nowhere Friday night. The "Truth Hurts" artist took aim at some unknown folks who have no problem talking about the aforementioned rappers but refuse to let her into the overarching hip-hop conversation. She seemed to question whether the two were even rappers in the since-deleted tweet.
"Sometimes I get pissed that there are people who call future & sway lee (sic) rappers and still question whether or not I belong in the rap conversation...but then I remember I have the #4 song in the country, laugh, go back to my dream job and log off," she wrote.
If Lizzo wanted to start a conversation, she got her wish. Swae Lee and Future fans swarmed to clown Lizzo and protect their faves.
