Four Sight: Anycia is Trying to Dominate Every Room She Steps in
Anycia, who has collaborated with GloRilla, Latto, 4Batz, and others, is one of the most exciting rappers emerging from Atlanta.
This feature is from Complex Magazine Issue No. 2 - Spring 2025 (The Innovation Issue), which is available now for pre-order on Complex Shop.
On Anycia’s breakout hit “BACK OUTSIDE,” she makes her stance clear from the jump: “I’m a South Side bitch to the grave.”
While Anycia, 27, proudly reps Atlanta, where she was born and raised, her catalog showcases her openness to experiment with different regional styles. On her debut LP, Princess Pop That, she seamlessly blends Southern hip-hop with Detroit and West Coast beats, even flirting with sexy drill sounds. While she’s versatile in her musical exploration, she remains a perfectionist at heart. “This is my craft. This is my job, my livelihood,” she tells Complex. “I want everybody to get the point.”
Confidence radiates through her music and presence. Anycia is determined to empower women to feel good about themselves, whether they’re headed to the gas station or the club. It makes you wonder just how much work she’s put in for her own sense of self. “I'm always going to dominate every room I walk into,” she says. “I want everybody to walk away with some positivity or something to learn from me—whether it’s personal, career-related, or just a confidence boost.”
While grateful for her success, Anycia also keeps it real about the industry's challenges. In short, she’s allergic to the bullshit. “I've probably been through everything that a girl could possibly go through,” Anycia says.
