J. Cole Warns of AI on New Song “Clouds”: ‘Whatever Happen to Human Beings?’
The song comes after he promised he was “locked in” and working on new music.
J. Cole is back with a new song after promising fans he was "locked in."
On Thursday, the 40-year-old rapper released "Clouds" via his blog, The Algorithm, hosted on the Inevitable platform. Along with the track the Dreamville boss shared a message to fans about the new music. According to Cole's blog post, "Clouds" is produced by DZL, Omen, and "small contributions from" the rapper himself.
"[J]ust wanted to share. made this a few days ago, then i added a second verse and was like "man I got a blog now, I can put whatever I want up there," he wrote. "I didn't have a title 20 minutes ago when I decided to really put this up. But now I got one..."
Earlier this week, Cole used his blog to update fans with a message promising to deliver new music and be more consistent with his blogging. He also explained that he's been "balancing family and creativity," which he called "a juggling act that a blog post wouldn't do justice in explaining."
“I knowwww mannnn. I'm off to a bad start with the consistency, but I'ma do better! Watch!!” Cole wrote on Tuesday. “I been locked in on the music while also balancing family life. It's a juggling act that a blog post wouldn't do justice in explaining. But with that said, I'm back tending to this garden.”
He continued, “I think I'm gonna let some other people post on here too, to get the vibes up. It'll motivate me to check every day,and will fuel the desire to post more. I'ma start with Ib and Scott and then expand from there. To anybody in the squad reading, if you trying to contribute I'm taking applications!”
Cole's last body of work was Might Delete Later, the April 2024 mixtape that included “7 Minute Drill," a diss trick aimed at Kendrick Lamar in response to “Like That” from Future and Metro Boomin's album, We Don’t Trust You.
