21 Savage Teases New Music on Instagram
It's been a while since 21 Savage last dropped a solo project, but that might change soon.
Despite 21 Savage's ubiquity this year, thanks to a number of noteworthy guest features, it's been a while since he dropped his solo debut Issa Album. But it looks like the wait for new solo material from 21 might finally be coming to an end.
On his Instagram story, the rapper offered up a lengthy tease of what's coming next. Over menacing production, 21 raps in his signature cadence before he gets so excited he yells one of the lines from the previously unheard track into his phone. It's not entirely clear what he's planning just yet, but fans have speculated that his next release could very well be a follow-up to his collaboration album with Offset and Metro Boomin, Without Warning.
He previously said he was going back to his street roots, however, explaining that he wanted to do something a little more in line with Slaughter King, The Slaughter Tape, and Free Guwop than his more polished output. “I’m going back gangsta,” he says. “I’m going back to what brought me in the door… I wanna get back on some gangsta shit 'cause I feel like everybody rap about money and cars all day. Like they say I be rap about too much guns and shit, but that's what the hell be going on. That's what really be going on, like, in real life.”
We do know that he's scheduled to drop something substantial on Dec. 7, as he previously revealed in a cryptic tweet.
