50 Cent Recalls Crying at Eminem's Daughter Hailie’s Wedding, Shares That He Wishes He Had 'That Relationship'
50 Cent added that if he did have a daughter, his life on the road might have gone differently.
50 Cent has opened up about the emotional impact that Eminem's daughter's wedding had on him.
In an interview with Haute Living, 50 Cent said that he had a strong reaction when he attended the wedding of Hailie Jade in Michigan earlier this year. "It was unbelievable, the wildest thing for me, period. I was like, 'Yo, bro, this is crazy. We’re getting old. Your baby is grown. What the fuck is going on?’" he said. "I was having a moment myself over there. I told Em, ‘You said it was OK to cry, because I’m crying.’ I couldn’t believe it went that fast.”
In fact, he said it made him realize that he wished he had a daughter of his own. "I wish I had a daughter," he admitted. "I do. I wish I had a daughter. ... I wish I had that [father-daughter] relationship. For female children, their dad is the first man they fall in love with. Male children go to their mom; I’m a mama’s boy myself."
He added that if he did have a daughter, his life on the road might have gone differently. "I could always go out on the road, but with Hailie, it was different," he said. "Like if she’s looking at you and she doesn’t want you to leave and you go ‘no, I’ve got to work.’ [And she says] But really, do you have to go?’ ‘OK, maybe I don’t have to go.’ If that was the case, things might have changed for me."
He recalled how there was many times Eminem refused to come play shows with him because he felt his relationship with his daughter was more important that a potential payday from a big gig. "Em was saying that he didn’t want to go everywhere in the world where I went. I would say to him that people would pay a gazillion dollars to see us on tour together, all kinds of money to see him perform," he continued. "We should be on the run now; [the kids are] grown."
50 Cent has a lot on his plate at the moment, between a string of shows earlier this year and his various projects in TV and entertainment. Just this week, he dropped his debut fictional novel, The Accomplice. Whether his time for another kid, however, is unclear.
