Lil' Kim Doubles Down on Praying for Monsoon in Los Angeles: 'Any Questions?'
She previously said that she was praying for a monsoon to hit Los Angeles amid the wildfires.
Lil' Kim doubled down after she shared a post saying she was praying for a monsoon amid the fires in Los Angeles.
Across a series of posts shared on X, on Thursday, the 50-year-old rapper appeared to address backlash for her initial post.
"What's happening is devastating and what LA really needs right now is rain—so what's the issue?" she wrote. "Doesn't everyone understand that a monsoon is heavy rain? I'm so happy to see that everyone is staying so positive during such a tragic situation. Let's keep praying and supporting everyone that has been affected by this."
In a second tweet, she shared a screenshot of a Google search explaining what a monsoon is. "For anyone that's confused," she wrote. "Any questions?"
If a monsoon were to hit the region, it could actually worsen the wildfires currently devastating Los Angeles. Monsoons involve heavy winds and rainfall, and while rain could help extinguish some of the fire, the winds would just make things worse for the 6 million residents under threat.
Intense rainfall could also cause flooding, another issue that Californians don't need right now.
In her initial post, Lil' Kim said that she was praying for Los Angeles.
"Been sending strong prayers up for LA and everyone affected by the fires," she wrote. "This is heartbreaking. I pray to Jesus that God make it monsoon in LA."
Per CNN, at least 25 people have been killed in the fires and another 31 people are missing. Residents in Los Angeles County have been warned that they will have to wait another week at least before they can return to their property to see the damage of the fires.
Weather forecasters said that another wave of winds in Santa Ana is expected within the next week. Over 170,000 people remain under evacuation notices.
