After teasing the track on social media, Snoop Dogg has dropped his long-awaited single “Murder Music” track featuring Benny the Butcher, Jadakiss, and Busta Rhymes.
The hard-hitting single recalls some of Snoop’s earliest work, bringing back that distinctively west-coast delivery with an assist from some of New York’s finest. Benny, Jadakiss, and Busta all match-up perfectly with Snoop’s hook, and the Nottz-produced boom-bap beat certainly helps, too.
The arrival of the single comes after Snoop teased the track on social media multiple times. Upon releasing the single, Snoop shared an Instagram post that indicated “Murder Music” is expected to show up on his new album Algorithm, which is due to arrive later this month.
Last month, Snoop stopped by Complex for an interview with Speedy Morman. During the chat, he reflected on how wrong he was about Drake’s longevity, and what fans can expect to hear when the Algorithm album arrives later this month. “That n***a ain’t going nowhere,” he said. Days later, Drizzy gave the west coast OG some props and said, “My uncle too raw.”
Listen to “Murder Music” above. Algorithm is due out on Nov. 19.
