The Second Installment of 'Surviving R. Kelly' Had People Shook

The first episode of Lifetime’s record-breaking, explosive docuseries Surviving R. Kelly inspired an intense reaction on social media, with many viewers—including some notable celebrities—appalled by what was depicted.

The second installment of the three-night, six-part special—which aired Friday night—was no different.

Much of the ire surrounding Friday’s episode centered around those in Kelly’s cadre who allowed the alleged abuse to go on unchecked.

Viewers also criticized the parents of the victims, many of whom allegedly turned a blind eye to what was happening.

Eventually focus turned to members of the jury in the 2008 child pornography case, in which Kelly was acquitted. Some pointed out that the jury blamed the accusers because they were black.

The third installment of Surviving R. Kelly airs Saturday, January 5, at 9 PM ET/PT.
