BJ the Chicago Kid Details Collaborating With Kendrick Lamar and What He's Learned From Dr. Dre and Kanye West
Complex News caught up with BJ the Chicago Kid while out at SXSW for an in-depth interview.
BJ the Chicago Kid has been making quite a name for himself as of late. From Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, to hip-hop greats like Dr. Dre and Kanye West, everyone wants a piece of the singer out of Chi-Town.
Despite being in the industry for over a decade, it feels like BJ is just now beginning to really shine and receive recognition for his music. That includes his latest album, In My Mind, which is generating a ton of buzz. In the middle of his busy schedule of performances at SXSW in Austin, Texas, BJ spent some time with Complex News and opened up about what it's like being in studio with Kendrick.
"Kendrick is quite the character," he explained. "No day is the same. He's always on a different wave and I feel like when he calls you he knows you're on the wave that he's on."
