Ye hasn’t shown love to many of his peers in recent days.

However, on Tuesday, he tipped his hat to 50 Cent.

“50 Cent is one of my favorite people,” Ye tweeted. “He will be one of the people who brings back Black economic independence.”

But 50 wasn’t too happy to get a shout-out from the artist formerly known as Kanye West.

“Damn it Ye ya dangerous right now, what you say about the kids man,” Fif captioned a screenshot of Ye’s tweet on Instagram.

50 Cent followed up with another Instagram post on Thursday, writing, “I didn’t post anything yesterday because @Ye said the kids are retarded. I can’t compete with that kinda sh!t, I’m listening to his album now !”

The kids 50 is referencing are Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s twins, Rumi Carter, and Sir Carter, whom West called the R-word in a since-deleted pair of tweets. The album 50 Cent is referring to is Ye’s Bully project, which he dropped as a short film on Wednesday.

50 is likely disassociating himself from Ye due to a recent string of chaotic social media posts, where the Donda rapper spoke about his mental health in a troubling manner, but which also saw him attacking Playboi Carti, Tyler, the Creator, Kendrick Lamar, and more, in addition to Bey and Hov.

Also, it’s tough to forget that Ye both called himself a Nazi and expressed his “love” for Hitler, then backtracked the statement days later.

Still, it seems that 50 Cent has some understanding of where West is coming from.

“I don’t think anybody’s been through more or have more reasons to fall apart than Kanye,” Fif told Billboard in October. “The success of his project [Graduation] comes, and his mom passes away. So what you been praying for—the gift is a curse. You lose that, and he had real reasons to fucking be out of it. He did the right thing. He went to work.”
