Ab-Soul Shares New Song “Squeeze 1st 2”
This is the TDE artist's first release since his 'Herbert' album.
Ab-Soul has dropped off his new song “Squeeze 1st 2.”
The track is the TDE artist’s first release since 2022’s Herbert album—his return after a six-year hiatus.
Herbert boasted appearances from Joey Badass, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, Russ, Fresh, Ambré, ALEMEDA, and TDE’s SiR, Punch, Zacari, and Lance Skiiiwalker, plus production from DJ Premier, Sounwave, James Blake, Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, and DJ Dahi, among others.
As a close collaborator with Kendrick Lamar, it's no surprise Ab had an opinion on Dot's beef with Drake. In July, Ab took to X to say that the 6 God could still find redemption.
"If Drake is the MC I imagine he can be, redemption is not off the table," Ab tweeting, also pointing out that "MC" is the "key word." He continued, "This was not a rap battle. It was scripture."
Ab-Soul recently touched the stage with his current and former TDE counterparts for a Black Hippy reunion at Lamar's The Pop-Out: Ken and Friends Concert; however, it seems we won't see much more from the group, which disbanded following Kenny's departure from TDE.
In April, Schoolboy Q kindly let us know that there will not be another Black Hippy album. “I’m not making no Black Hippy shit,” Q said on The Danny Brown Show. "Hell no. I’ll never do that shit." He further explained that everyone has their respective priorities: "I think we’re all kind of on our separate paths right now."
