Gloria Estefan Says Diddy Accuser Is 'Not Well in the Head'
The singer was named in a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy in April.
Gloria Estefan’s name was dragged into Diddy’s sexual assault woes last month, when an accuser claimed an infamous “freak-off” happened at her Star Island home.
On Thursday (May 8), TMZ caught up with the singer outside iHeartRadio in New York City, where she denied having any involvement.
“Nothing happened at my house, ever, ever,” she told the outlet. “So I just hope [Diddy] gets in front of this.”
While she isn’t sure how the trial will end for Diddy, she claimed the accuser, Joseph Manzaro is “not well in the head,” adding that “if you look at his history, he’s just throwing everybody in.”
Estefan then proceeded to praise Diddy and his mother for their neighborly hospitality. “Diddy was a neighbor," she told the outlet. "He was always very kind to us and his mom—spectacular. But we never were in his house or him in ours."
In early April, Manzaro filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy, in which he claimed he was drugged and forced to wear a vulgar mask at a “freak-off” allegedly held at Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s Star Island home in Miami, attended by Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and LeBron James.
He also claimed that he was taken in a secret underground tunnel from the Estefan’s residence to Diddy’s neighboring home. Manzaro later removed Beyoncé and Jay from the lawsuit.
Diddy’s federal trial began this week in Manhattan with jury selection. The disgraced music mogul has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution charges.
Racketeering carries a sentence of life in prison. Sex trafficking also carries a maximum sentence of life in prison, while transportation to engage in prostitution carries a maximum sentence of 10 years.
It was reported that Cassie, who previously accused Diddy of rape in a quickly settled 2023 lawsuit, was “prepared to testify under her own name” as one of Diddy’s alleged victims.
