Kid Cudi Shares Reaction to Diddy Allegedly Setting His Porsche on Fire: 'What the F*ck...'
Diddy is alleged to have blew up Cudi's car after he had a brief relationship with Cassie Ventura. Cudi said that a Molotov cocktail was used.
Kid Cudi took the stand on Thursday in Diddy's sex trafficking and racketeering trial, where he was asked about the mogul allegedly blowing up his car in 2012. Diddy was allegedly upset that Cudi and Cassie Ventura dated.
"What was your reaction to your car being set on fire?" the prosecution asked Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, per Inner City Press.
"What the fuck," Cudi responded.
Earlier in the line of questioning, the Insano artist revealed that his dog’s babysitter called him and told him his “car was on fire.”
After being shown images of his vehicle, he pointed out, “The damage to my Porsche from the Molotov cocktail."
He also revealed that they got the incendiary device into his car by cutting a “hole…in the roof” of the vehicle.
Cudi then said he believed the fire to be “intentional’ and not accidental. At some point, he met with Diddy at Soho House to squash their feud, where Cudi asked about his car.
“[Diddy] said, ‘I don't know what you are talking about.’ I walked away,” Cudi said.
Cudi and Diddy saw each other a few years later, where the Bad Boy Records founder apologized. “He said, ‘I'm just sorry for all that bullshit.’ I was surprised, so I found peace with it,” Cudi told the prosecution.
Cudi and Cassie briefly dated in 2011 after the singer and Diddy had parted ways. According to Cudi’s testimony, in January 2012, he received a call from his dog’s babysitter that his car was on fire in his driveway.
A month before, in December 2011, Cudi said that he called the police after an alleged break-in attempt. Earlier that morning, he received a call from Cassie, who said Diddy had found out about them. Cudi then called Diddy, who allegedly said, “‘I'm over here waiting for you.’” Cudi later said he wanted to “fight” Diddy because the break-in left Cudi’s dog feeling “jittery.”
Last week, Cassie claimed in her testimony that Diddy gave the order to blow up Cudi's Porsche, saying that Diddy "wanted Scott's friends to see Scott's car blown up," according to Inner City Press.
She said just before Christmas 2011, Diddy physically assaulted her because he "found an email" during a "freak-off" sex party that implied she had a relationship with Cudi. She said soon after, the three met.
"[Cudi] said, What about my vehicle? And [Diddy] said, What vehicle? And that was the end of the meeting," Cassie said, echoing Cudi’s testimony.
Ventura first made the allegation in her civil lawsuit in 2023, saying that Diddy became extremely upset when he discovered that she and Cudi dated. Rumors of the incident circulated in 2012, but it wasn't until November 2023 that a spokesperson for Cudi corroborated Cassie’s account of the alleged car explosion in a statement to The New York Times, saying, “This is all true.”
