Logic pointed out that he and Maxo sampled the same song, which he says has been 'sampled like 15 times since the ’70s.'

Logic is responding to claims that he’s a biter.

On Friday, Maxo Kream responded to a clip from FaZe Adapt’s recent stream, where Logic previewed some music from his forthcoming album, Side Quest. Maxo had a problem with Logic’s song “700 Club” with Wiz Khalifa, which the Houston rapper alleged sounded like his 2019 record, “Meet Again.”

“Jus stole my song huh,” wrote in a quote-tweet of a clip from Adapt’s stream.

When Mike Dean, who co-produced “Meet Again,” caught wind of Kream’s claims, he slid into Complex’s comments, writing, “Pay us.”

Maxo and Dean’s pushback prompted Logic to address their claims in an Instagram video, saying he had never heard of Kream until now.

“I don’t be on the internet and somebody hit me about this dude I’ve never heard of before named Maxo Kream, who’s pretty dope. So probably like 45 minutes ago, somebody showed me some Complex thing that was like, ‘Logic stole this dude’s song’ or whatever,” he said, referencing the Complex post below that elicited a response from Dean.

“I was like, ‘I don’t know who that is!’ Then I went and listened to the song and I was like, ‘Oh wow, yeah, it’s the same sample.’ And it’s been sampled like 15 times since the ’70s. Nas has sampled it, everybody’s sampled it,” he explained, referencing Cloud One’s 1976 song “Dust to Dust,” which Nas flipped for his 2012 song, “Daughters.”

Logic also said that he made “700 Club” “from scratch” during a Twitch livestream. He then suggested that he and Maxo make a song together.

“I’m not with any of the, you know, bullshit,” he said. “I love seeing Hip Hop musicians thrive and do great. And this is just me very respectfully saying: I’ve never heard of Maxo Kream. I’m actually really happy I have ’cause now, since I’ve checked out his music, I’m like, ‘Yo, this shit is tight!’

He continued, “But I didn’t take your shit. I don’t have time for none of that shit. I just want you to win, I want everybody to win, and this is me being like, ‘My producer used a sample, I rapped on the shit, and if you want to see me do it from scratch, go look it up.’

“It’s nothing but love, man. Shit, let’s do a record!," he continued. "Let’s get this money and turn the fuck up! That’s what we should be doing. We’re brothers.”

Maxo hasn’t yet responded.
