The Alchemist Wants to Make a Jazz Album With Young Thug

The Alchemist and his fans are aligned.

On Sunday, Dec. 16, the three-time Grammy-nominated producer took to X to respond to a fan who wrote, “introspective jazz album with young thug needed,” in response to Alc tweeting, “How we looking?”

Alchemist later responded to the fan, “Somebody send me his number i got u.”

The idea stems from a viral post in November. “When Young Thug gets into his introspective bag, turns to jazz and makes a collab album with The Alchemist,” the X user wrote, next to a clip of Vince Carter tearing up at his Toronto Raptors jersey retirement ceremony.

The potential collaboration inspired some fans, with one creating artwork à la Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak‘s Silk Sonic album cover. Others made theoretical mash-ups.

In late October, after spending over two years in jail, Thugger was released after taking a plea deal. He hasn’t shared any new music post-prison just yet, but he did drop the album Business is Business while incarcerated in 2023.
