The dog days of summer are almost over, but Drake still hasn’t dropped his highly anticipated album, For All the Dogs.

The OVO artist announced the release of his forthcoming studio album at the end of June after dropping his poetry book, but no date was attached. This has left the internet guessing for the better half of the summer about when the eighth studio album will arrive and what the project will sound like.

Drake has dropped several hints while on his It’s All a Blur tour about what For All the Dogs might entail, including features from Nicki Minaj and Bad Bunny, cover art designed by his son, and other progress updates on the mixing and mastering process.

Even with all these clues, there is still no solid sign of when For All the Dogs is coming out, so we put on our Blue’s Clues detective hats to gather all of the bread crumbs and piece together what the upcoming album might look like. Check out the five biggest clues about For All the Dogs below.

It’s been described as “the old Drake” and coincides with his poetry book.

At the end of June, Drake released his poetry book, Titles Ruin Everything, along with a QR code that revealed that he would be dropping a new album. "I made an album to go with the book... They say they miss the old Drake girl don't tempt me," reads the text on a Titles Ruin Everything site. "For all the dogs."

“The old Drake” is an interesting way for The Boy to describe the sound of For All the Dogs because it could mean so many different things. In many ways, the way Drake raps hasn’t changed much since he came out over a decade ago. He uses real names, stories, and experiences to paint pictures in his music; that has remained true from Room for Improvement to Her Loss. What separates “the old Drake” from the current Drake is how relatable those stories are now. Stories about being in love in his mother’s basement have been replaced with concerns about his cleaning staff plotting extortion. It will be interesting to see what Drake considers to be “the old Drake,” and how those themes will fit into For All the Dogs.

Nicki Minaj will be featured on it.

The first artist Drake confirmed to be on For All the Dogs was Nicki Minaj. The rapper said that he would reunite with his Young Money counterpart during his Detroit stop on tour. “Me and Nicki Minaj did our first song in like, a really long time,” he told the crowd. “I got a lot of love for her.” The last time the two came together on a track was Minaj’s 2021 song “Seeing Green” with Lil Wayne.

Burna Boy might be featured on it.

During an interview with Speedy Morman on Complex’s 360 with Speedy, Burna Boy alluded to having a song with Drake that might be on For All the Dogs. “We may have already worked togetherI don’t know,” Burna said when Speedy asked if the two artists ever planned to collaborate with each other. It was previously believed that there was some bad blood between Burna and Drake after the Afrofusion artist wasn’t properly credited on More Life, but the two have since reconciled.

The cover art was designed by his son.

Drake shared For All the Dog’s cover art in the middle of August and also revealed that it was done by his son, Adonis. Over his last few albums, Drake has gone completely off the deep end with his album covers, using everything from pregnant emojis in an assortment of covers to headshots of models, but For All the Dogs is ironically one of his better covers as of late. The cover being revealed has also caused a flurry of conspiracy theories and misinformation about when the album will drop. As of the writing of this piece, For All the Dogs has yet to receive an official release date.
