It didn't take long for R&B singer Ciara to realize that her now-husband, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, was "the one."

Just a few months after celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary, Ciara was a guest on the last episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she dished about her marriage and first meeting Wilson. The couple went public in 2015, attending a state dinner together at the White House when Wilson was then a player on the Seattle Seahawks team. Roughly one year before, Ciara had given birth to her eldest son, Future Zahir Wilburn, whom she shares with her ex-fiancé, rapper Future.

When asked how she knew that Wilson would be "good" for her and little Future, Ciara told Clarkson, "When you know, you know."

"From day one, we sat down, we talked," the "Level Up" singer continued. "It’s so funny, 'cause we always laugh about the first time we met. We were talking to long and having such a good time and in such great conversation, we forgot to eat."

Shortly after the date, the couple had similar conversation with their friends, with Wilson telling a pal that Ciara was "the one," while Ciara also called her best friend and makeup artist, Yolonda Fredrick, whom she calls Yolie.

"I said, 'Yolie, I don’t want to jinx anything, but I think…' And she goes, ‘He’s the one?' And I go, 'Yes,'" Ciara shared about their post-date phone call.

Another instance that sealed the deal for Ciara was when she introduced Wilson to her son and father, Carlton Harris, at the same time.

"We were all in the house together. My dad was in the living room, Future was crawling on the floor, and there was a silver chair in the kitchen, and it was about to fall," she recalled.

"[Wilson] legit slid across that kitchen, so smooth, and caught that chair, and I was like, ‘Oh, okay,'" Ciara chuckled. "I mean, it was pretty sexy, but it was pretty cute."

Now, the parents have a full house, also raising younger children, Sienna, seven, Win, four, and nine-month-old Amora.

"He always has been, since day one, one to jump in and be about that life," said Ciara of her husband. "He goes to the teacher-parent conferences. He’s into every detail. He’s making sure the sports and gymnastics and everything is lined up."

From 2012 to 2014, Wilson was married to his ex-wife, Ashton Meem.
