Former Danity Kane Member D. Woods Recalls Diddy Treating Her ‘Like a Piece of Meat’
She told ABC News' Eva Pilgrim that Diddy put her in "predatory spaces."
D. Woods has become the latest former Danity Kane member to speak out about her time working for Diddy.
On Monday (June 27), the singer and actress appeared on ABC News to discuss the new Investigation Discovery four-part special The Fall of Diddy, which premiered that day. Woods was a contestant in Making the Band season three, where she was placed in Danity Kane alongside then-members Dawn Richard, Aubrey O'Day, Shannon Bex, and Aundrea Fimbres. While O'Day and Richard have accused Diddy, real name Sean Combs, of sexual harassment and work abuse, the latter even suing the artist, producer, and business mogul, Woods' ABC News interview marks the first time that she's publicly spoken about Diddy's belittling tactics.
"I would say that this moment now is a time where I feel like my experience, my truth will really be heard and actually considered and believed," Woods told anchor Eva Pilgrim.
At one point during the interview, a MTB scene is shown of Diddy interrogating Woods about her size. "He did it in different ways with all of us, picking and prodding, just a way to chip and knock away and then praise you," Woods recalled.
In The Fall of Diddy, Woods emotionally recounted being in "dark, scary, predatory spaces" under the three-time Grammy winner, who she alleged would say "the most degrading things" to her.
"Somebody constantly treating you like a piece of meat. Only seeing–only value you for your sex appeal," Woods told Pilgrim. "In some of the environments, it was even scary to be by yourself."
In 2008, Diddy kicked out O'Day and Woods from the group, which was seen on Making the Band season 11.
Diddy has been in jail since September of last year and is pending trial on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In a statement obtained by People, Diddy's attorneys stated, "It's disappointing these new claims that appear designed to sensationalize rather than reflect the truth. The show provided an incredible opportunity for all participants to develop their careers and achieve levels of success that few ever attain."
"Making the Band was a reality show, and certain aspects were dramatized for entertainment, decisions made regarding the group were always based on maintaining professionalism, fostering growth, and ensuring the group's success."
