Katy Perry recently shared a cheeky explanation for why her relationship with her fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, has lasted nearly a decade.

During an Instagram Live Q&A session, following the release of her new single "Woman's World," she was asked by one person to, "Tell us about Orlando's magic stick."

Perry playfully scoffed before responding, "Well, we've been together for a while, so I guess he’s got the magic in him," singing to the tune of B.o.B's "Magic."

"No, it’s really his heart. And he gave me my greatest gift ever… Daisy Dove Bloom," she continued, referring to the couple's daughter, who turns 4 in August.

Perry and Bloom began dating in 2016, experiencing brief on-and-off periods before getting engaged on Valentine's Day 2019. They planned to wed the following year, but the pandemic postponed their plans.

Earlier this year, Bloom, who stars in the Peacock adventure reality series To the Edge, shared on the podcast On Purpose With Jay Shetty that being with Perry has tested his need to "control." Bloom was previously married to model Miranda Kerr, with whom he shares a 13-year-old son, Flynn, while Perry was married to actor-comedian Russell Brand for 14 months.

"I think when you are in a deeply loving, committed relationship, you want to control or own or have and, you know, even just letting go of ideas, how things should be, or the idea of what intimacy or intimate moments are to you versus them, or whatever it may be," Bloom said around the 45-minute mark of the video above.
