Offset Says He Talks to Quavo 'Every Other Week:' 'You Gonna Bump Heads With Your Family Sometimes'
The former Migos members are on better terms since the 2022 death of Takeoff.
Offset says he and Quavo are no longer feuding, saying they frequently "holla at each other" three years after the death of Migos member Takeoff.
To promote his upcoming third solo album, Kiari, Offset was a guest on the Thursday (Aug. 7) episode of podcast 7PM in Brooklyn With Carmelo Anthony.
During the conversation, Offset discussed grieving the loss of Takeoff, along with where he currently stands with Quavo. Migos disbanded officially in 2023, one year after Takeoff was killed in Houston. Just months before, the group had gone their separate ways, with Quavo and Takeoff banding as Unc & Phew.
Around the 31-minute mark of the 7PM episode below, Offset explained that he and Quavo no longer have tension and talk "every other week."
"It be the internet trying to do some old shit, but with us, it ain't about that. Like, we holla at each other," Offset said. "We gotta holla at each other in the day, at the end of the day, man. That's family at the end of the day, man. You're gonna bump heads with your family sometime. In the day, a n***a ain't finna play with him, or a n***a ain't finna play with me."
Offset added that he and Quavo most recently reunited for what would've been Takeoff's 31st birthday on June 18.
"Gotta celebrate him. Any bullshit get put aside about bruh. Because he was the glue," Offset continued. "He was the one who keep our head straight when we were trying to—you know how that shit be, man? The three of us n***as think one way, one way. He always was the n***a that was the medium.
"Buddy ain't trying to argue. He don't want you to do nothing. He's just peaceful, bruh," he added. "He still be around, though. You feel him."
Quavo and Offset last publicly came together for the 2023 BET Awards, where they performed "Bad and Boujee" in tribute to Takeoff. Months before, the rappers reportedly got into a fight backstage at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, where Quavo and Maverick City performed during the "In Memoriam" segment.
