Ray J Shuts Down 'Disrespectful' Whitney Houston Rumors, Denies Being With Her During Death
"What are y'all talking about?"
Ray J has defended himself against accusations of being present during the time of Whitney Houston's death.
On Friday (June 6), the R&B and reality television star took to Twitch with his former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood castmate Moniece Slaughter where he spoke on the allegations.
In the few years prior to Houston's passing in 2012, the two were close friends after the singer's divorce from Bobby Brown in 2007. The six-time Grammy winner accidentally drowned in the bathtub of her Beverly Hilton hotel room, caused by heart disease and cocaine use.
In the clip below, Ray J said he wasn't in the room at the time of Houston's death despite some claims that he was. "So it's like, 'What are y'all talking about?' I gotta literally come out and explain what it really was, which is super disrespectful to Whitney. But now it's getting out of control."
Ray J said he's never discussed the topic "out of respect" for the late superstar and insisted that he'll "let a story build" without feeling the need to explain himself. "But eventually, if shit gets too out of control and narratives are being created ... I have to say something, even if you don't want to. Because it's like, 'Yo, this shit's crazy," he said.
His comments come after Suge Knight alleged in a recent Art of Dialogue interview that Ray J supplied drugs to Houston.
"She just used the term that 'Brandy’s little brother bringing me drugs and doing drugs with me,'" he claimed. "'Brandy’s little brother trying to kiss me and do drugs with me.' Next thing you know, she’s dead."
Ray J hasn't yet addressed the remark about Houston, although he did slam Knight for alleging that he and Diddy were romantically involved.
"Ray J and Puffy are lovers bro, really?" Ray J said during a recent Twitch stream. "That’s what Suge is trying to say. Suge disappointed me and let me know that Suge’s a complete cunt. I’ve always had Suge’s back."
