Chip Shows Love To Central Cee, Reminds The Grime Scene Of His Legend On “C Freestyle”

Who’s next to jump on this iconic Flukes riddim?

Last week, Central Cee struck gold when he turned his talents to grime, taking on Flukes’ classic “I Have Nothing” instrumental for the “CC Freestyle”.

It was an instant hit with fans and sparked an immediate grime resurgence conversation, but it also ruffled a couple of feathers. Digga D, who is currently behind bars awaiting trial for drug charges, sent out a social media response via his management team that brushed the barbs away with the message, “I ain’t Drake or Kendrick”, while others online have shown their dismay at Cench’s “I’m the reason the UK valid” line.

Grime and UK rap legend Chip has since come through with his own take on the Flukes riddim and there were a couple of people who mistakenly thought Chip had also seen the track as a provocation, no doubt due to lines like “Ask anybody born after ‘95 who made them wanna jump on grime they tell you it’s me,” Chip rapped in a short snippet, captioning it, “IT CAN GET GRIMEY.”

It turns out that was all in good fun, because when the Tottenham MC dropped the track, it came with a press shot of the pair and the line “I ain’t one of them olders hating, I tell Central that I rate him,” he rhymes. “His progression’s motivating.”

Moreover, Cench even features in the video and you can see that at the top.
