UK R&B Riser Cari Stuns With “Luvhii” Performance
The West London talent collaborated with Coca-Cola and KOKO London for a special performance of her latest single.
West London-hailing R&B singer Cari has shared a new exclusive performance visual for “Luvhiii”, the opening salvo on her most recent project, Flux.
Drawing inspiration from Gospel heroes like Kirk Franklin and Marvin Sapp, Cari’s music carries that emotionally stirring way with words and applies them with a fine touch, both on the page and in the booth.
New single “Luvhiii”—a gem she cooked up with studio alchemist Melo-Zed—is a fine example of that, taking the intense early moments of new love that inspire a lot of R&B and approaching them from a wholly new angle.
In her own words, she explains, “‘Luvhiii’ was inspired by my love of spy movies and investigative thrillers. It captures both the whimsy and intensity of falling in love, ‘Luvhiii’ sonically felt like it lended itself to that narrative and the writing married it all together.’”
This performance of “Luvhii” is the latest in a new series called Pilot, where artists step into the state-of-the-art Coca Cola Recording Studio in the House of KOKO, which is then followed up with a performance at the jazz and blues bar Ellen’s filmed by KOKO’s in-house production team, KOKO Studios.
Cari joins an exclusive list of artists and musicians to have passed through the studios that includes Kofi Stone, Saϊna, Meron T and Essence Martins. Tap into Cari’s performance up top and then look out for the next guest in the studio: Nice-born, Auckland-raised singer-songwriter Max Allias.
