Rihanna's "Stay" was one of the most enduring pop singles of 2013, but it started off, as so many pop songs often do, as a solo demo by a Louisiana industry songwriter named MikkyEkko, who would go on to feature on the track.

The day after "Stay" lost the Grammy for Best Duo/Group Performance to "Get Lucky," Ekko has released a kaleidoscope dream of a video for his solo demo of the track, which is smoother and less wounded (and thus slightly less powerful) than the version with Rihanna.
