Mustard Calls Out Boi-1da Over 'West Coast Rap Is Ass' Claim, Shares Alleged DM Praising 'Not Like Us' Beat
The Toronto producer allegedly called the "Not Like Us" beat "hard AF."
Mustard took to Instagram Stories on Monday to confront Boi-1da for allegedly saying "West Coast rap is ass."
"Say it ain't so man," Mustard wrote in a post directed at Boi-1da before sharing a screenshot of the producer's purported harsh criticism of West Coast rap, labeling him a "hater."
"I thought you was real one i ain't kno you felt this way," Mustard continued.
The "Not Like Us" producer shared a screenshot of a DM allegedly from Boi-1da in which the Toronto native called the track "good shit," adding, "Beat hard AF."
"You said you liked not like us," Mustard wrote. "Welp there's enough yellow tape to go around."
The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar essentially created party lines and even producers were forced to choose sides. Following the release of "Not Like Us," Mustard told the Los Angeles Times that he was opposed to the idea of working with the Toronto rapper again in the future.
“I don’t think I want to make a song with that dude,” he said. “He’s a strange guy.”
Despite his work on Kendrick's 2022 album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, it's safe to assume where Boi-1da's allegiance lies.
