Trippie Redd Responds to Ye’s Statement About Inventing Rage Music: 'Your Old Ass Ain’t Invent Sh*t'
The rapper claims himself, XXXTentacion, Playboi Carti, and Lil Uzi Vert are the actual pioneers of the sound.
Trippie Redd did not hold back in his response to the artist formerly known as Kanye West for claiming he originated rage music with the 2013 Yeezus track "Blood on the Leaves."
Trippie started off by giving credit to the artists whom he believes to be the true pioneers of the sound: himself, XXXTentacion, Playboi Carti, and Lil Uzi Vert. "The inventors of the rage sound is me, X, Carti, and Uzi," he said. "We paved the way. We popularized it."
"I'm not gonna let you old ass n****s say you invented something that you ain't invent," he continued, seemingly directed at Ye. "N****s need to take they pills, man. You n****s be psychotic, like, out of their fucking mind. Your old ass ain’t invent shit. That’s exactly why I ain’t pull up on his old ass ‘cause he always just wanna put a n***a beneath him and shit.”
Trippie also reposted Carti's "YE STFU" message.
Others believe Kid Cudi, who was arguably the inspiration behind 808s & Heartbreak, should be included in the conversation about the originators of rage music.
