Cassie Ventura says she and Sean “Diddy” Combs was addicted to painkillers throughout their 11-year relationship, culminating in Diddy's alleged overdose.

The 38-year-old singer made the claim Thursday during her cross-examination in Diddy’s federal sex trafficking trial. Defense attorney Anna Estevao asked Cassie if she recalled the time Diddy allegedly overdosed on opioids at a February 2012 Playboy Mansion party.

“Was that around the time Whitney Houston died? I believe so,” Cassie said before sharing more details about that night. “That evening we had a ‘freak-off.’ We went to a sex club in San Bernardino. And then he had a party at the Playboy Mansion that night, and I went home...

“From what [Diddy] told me, he took a really strong opioid that night, but we didn’t know what happened,” Cassie continued. “So, we took him to the hospital.”

Diddy’s lawyer then asked Cassie if she and the defendant were dependent on painkillers “during the entire duration of [their] relationship.”

“Very much so,” she said.

According to Inner City Press’ Matthew Russell Lee, Estevao continued to press Cassie about Diddy’s alleged substance abuse and whether it fueled his purported violent behavior.

“Did Mr. Combs ever abuse you while he was inebriated, then say he didn’t remember it?” the attorney asked. “Did you feel he was not taking responsibility?”

Cassie responded “yes” to both questions. She also said she and Diddy referred to themselves as “Get High Partners” and admitted to taking drugs from him without his knowledge. Cassie said that Diddy eventually told Los Angeles drug dealers to no longer supply her with narcotics.

“You were doing a lot of drugs?” Estevao asked.

“It was a rough time,” Cassie said. “There was a time I lost all sense of smell and taste and woke up in a hospital with an IV in my arm; I tried then to get help.”

Diddy’s trial began on May 5, nearly eight months after the disgraced hip-hop mogul was arrested on federal charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering.

Cassie is among the dozens of people who have accused Diddy of sexual assault, abuse, and exploitation. After the second day of testimony, prosecutors released the full surveillance video of Diddy’s brutal attack on Cassie at a Los Angeles hotel.

Cassie told the court the assault occurred as she was trying to flee one of Diddy’s “freak-offs,” drug-fueled parties in which she was directed to engage in sex acts.
