Tanner Adell is doing country on her own terms—genre-bending, crafting her own stage ‘fits, and documenting it all from her phone.
In this special episode of What’s In Your Phone?—powered by Cricket—Adell opens up about what’s really going on in her camera roll, voice memos, and Notes app. Spoiler: it’s not just stage looks and song lyrics. It’s full-on creative chaos, text messages from “Uncle Shaq,” and a digital scrapbook of dreams—literally.
“I have really vivid dreams,” she says. Her Notes app is filled with half-written songs and vivid, often bizarre dreams she jots down in the middle of the night—equal parts creative goldmine and chaotic diary.
The most unexpected contact in her phone? None other than Shaquille O’Neal. “We kind of keep up with each other. I don’t know—he’s like Uncle Shaq.”
Her favorite way to stay connected? Comments. “I’m a hawk in the comments,” she says. “I read every single comment, and that is my favorite place to connect with people online, and especially my fans… and also, getting the tea. They’re saying what they want to say in those comments.”
Adell also swears by Voice Memos, and loves using her phone to test new songs, get real-time feedback from fans, and document the full behind-the-scenes of her life—including hand-making her own performance outfits.
“I think I just want to be as real as possible,” she shared.
So what’s in Tanner Adell’s phone? From texts from Uncle Shaq to sketchpad dreams–it’s all part of the world she’s building, one voice memo at a time.
