50 Cent Says Nelly’s Story About Him Apologizing to Ashanti Is True
50 Cent confirms Nelly’s story about him apologizing to Ashanti during an event.
50 Cent confirmed Nelly’s story that the rapper confronted him after dissing Ashanti in his feud with Murder Inc.
On Saturday (June 28), 50 hopped on Instagram with a post showing Nelly appearing on Fat Joe and Jadakiss’ new podcast recalling the incident. In the early 2000s, 50 was embroiled in a vicious feud with Ja Rule, and Ashanti was dragged into it due to her association with Irv Gotti and his label.
According to Nelly, Ashanti motivated him to confront 50 at an event. Once he approached 50’s table, Nelly asked 50 to lay off Ashanti since she had nothing to do with the beef, but 50 claimed anything is fair in war. However, 50 eventually loudly apologized to Ashanti at the event, which he confirmed in his IG post.
“This is true no 🧢detected, I always liked Moe he took off when I got hit. I was hurt I couldn’t do nothing but watch the TV.@50centAction,” 50 captioned the post.
Out of the many rappers 50 had feuded with, Nelly never came into his crosshairs. In 2023, 50 revealed he took elements from a Nelly song to craft a hit for Lloyd Banks.
“I would be able to look at someone else’s record and be able to make my version of the record when the right production came around,” said 50. “When Nelly was going ‘It’s getting hot in here so take off all your clothes’…That’s how Banks did ‘On Fire.’ I wrote the chorus for that.”
He added, “It’s the same record […] It’s just new melodies, new production and let Banks do it.”
