Jermaine Dupri has responded to Dawn Robinson, who claimed she felt attacked by his comments about living in her car.

On Friday, Dupri gave his thoughts on Robinson's comments that he was ridiculing her over her current financial situation in an interview with TheShadeRoom. Robinson had admitted in early March that she was living out of her car, and Dupri claimed she willingly chose that lifestyle, especially when she mentioned having an assistant.

Robinson said during an interview that she was shocked by Dupri's statement, which led to the latter offering somewhat of an apology and clarifying his statement.

"I'm sorry she viewed what I was saying as an attack; it feels like she didn't watch my video," Dupri told TheShadeRoom. "She heard what someone said because if you watch my video, I was trying to defend her because I watched her video very thoroughly and realized that she was saying this was her choice."

Dupri's explanation comes after Robinson called him out for commenting on her financial situation. According to Robinson, she only met Dupri once and he has no right to "attack" another artist the way he did her.

"I've only met him once in my life, if that," the former En Vogue singer said of Dupri. "I remember being around but not directly meeting him. So I don't even think we said hello and shook hands or gave a hug. So I was shocked."

She continued, "Usually artist to artist…we don't attack each other like that. You would swear that he knows me directly. Like he knows my story. Where you coming from? It was a shock but some people have to just be negative."
